Bill for extra snow

Many of you have a clause to their contracts that stipulates a limit to the amount of snowfall beyond which an excess will be billed. The Follosoft platform includes features that make it easier to handle this situation.

If you use Option 2 (adding a "variable cost" service), it is very important to charge the extra cm only once, at the end of the season.
Here's how to proceed :

Step 1 : Create your new service. Ex: extra cm 

  1. See following article > create a new service 

Step 2 : Launch a new request 

  1. Via the menu Tools > Batch Operations

  1. Click on Create (top right corner).


Step 3 : Target your audience 

To determine who will receive the surcharge, follow these steps:
  1.  Refine your search by selecting relevant criteria. In the example below, the chosen criteria will affect 4756 contracts.

  1. Select Bill Extra Snow, on the right side
  2. Click Next


Step 5 : Enter your extra cm 

  1. Select the service to add from the drop-down menu > Extra cm
  2. Choose whether it's taxable or not. By default, it's a taxable service.

  1. Enter the number of centimeters included in your contracts and the centimeters in excess to be invoiced. 

The formula will be calculated as followed: the value of your client contract (before tax) divided by the number of included CM. Then it will be multiplied by the extra CM.
  1. Finish the step by clicking Execute


This action is irreversible. Be careful during this operation 😊


Step 6 : Launch the surcharge to your clients

The software will identify all contracts targeted by your request and will automatically add a snow surcharge fee to their account statement. Your action will change from 'in progress' to 'completed'.
  1. Press Refresh to execute your request
👏 There you have it, you have just assigned a batch service.
